Self Control

On March 1, 2010 I started a juice fast with my husband. In January we had a couple of friends share their experiences with the juice fast in terms of the detoxification, and the intimacy and revelation they experience with God. I was definitely intrigued. For some time now I"ve been allowing my weight to get out of control, and not taking care of my temple which is the body. So in this season of acceleration I made the commitment to stick to a strict diet of fresh fruits and vegetables being juiced.

The first week was tough, I felt tired and weak. There were moments in my day where I would move extremely slow. I would come home from work and would want to stay up later to do some paper work, and that extra energy to stay up was not there, I would fall asleep and wake up the next day. However as the time has gone by I've gotten stronger, and I feel great. Though the requirement has been to drink only fresh juiced vegetables and fruits, I have had an occasional salad particularly on Friday nights when i"m out with my youth group. I also would eat soup, nuts, and raisins when I"m really hungry and feel weak. I've also had a couple of high protein smoothies which have been a good boost on occasion.

One thing my husband and I have learned in this experience is self control. There have been moments where we have both craved something that we really loved, but resisted the temptation to get it. In this fast we are learning that we have the power over our bodies, we can determine what foods will go in. We are focus and determined to care for the temples that God has given us. We are on day 16 and still going strong. Do I miss food, you bet!...lol. However I believe this is the year for transformation, I want to live a healthier lifestyle.

Not only am I expecting to grow healthier in the natural, but also in the spiritual. I've been receiving such great words of empowerment from my Pastors Kevin and Pamela Begley. More than ever before I'm believing God for the promises that have been given, and I"m in a season of possessing the promises of God. I believe that God's blessings are going to out pour in my life, and the life of my family, and church in a powerful way. So stay tune for the testimonies, this is the year of acceleration. I know God is performing miracles!

Be Blessed!
